Job Purpose
Our client, a leading security organisation, are looking for a Network Security SME to join their growing team and take responsibility for ensuring the business has a robust and secure network. The individual will be required to define technical standards for the protection of the network and be responsible for the definition and implementation of controls.
Key Responsibilities for the Network Security SME
·         Responsible for contributing to the effective day-to-day delivery of Network Security plans across the business
·         Leading on projects from a Network Security standpoint ensuring projects are delivered securely
·         Acting as the point of contact for Network Security across the business
·         Implementing and configuring tools to ensure a robust Network that has appropriate levels of defence against cyber attacks
·         Maintenance of security tools ensuring they are best fit for the organisation
·         Working with Senior Stakeholders and business leaders to understands business requirements and how Network Security aligns
Key Skills and Experience for the Network Security SME
·         Able to demonstrate experience Network Security Engineer with expert knowledge of one or more of the following operating system \ platforms:
o    UNIX\Linux
o    Microsoft Windows 
o    Networking
·         Able to demonstrate experience in Information Security with progressive responsibilities   
·         Able to demonstrate experience with SIEM, Log Management and vulnerability tools
·         Demonstrated experience reviewing security documentation and operational procedures to determine system vulnerabilities
·         Thorough understanding of Active Directory, Network/Remote Access Security, Systems Security, Applications and Web Security and Firewall technologies
·         Thorough in-depth knowledge of major networking protocols at all layers of the network stack
·         Thorough in-depth knowledge of major encryption technologies
·         Knowledge in IP Technologies and Architectures, including:
·         IP interfaces, protocols and architectures
·         Design and deployment of Data Centre Local Area Networks and specifically security infrastructure, firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS, load balancers
·         Familiarity with network services, including DNS, NTP and DHCP
·         Familiarity with security techniques for protecting an IP/MPLS network (IP/MPLS & MP-BGP, IGP (IS-IS)
·         Strong background in developing security zoning standards, Network Segmentation architecture and methodologies for maintaining standard adoption of zoned solution design.
·         In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto
·         Capability in Forescout or Skybox Advantageous
·         Knowledge of information security and risk control frameworks such as ISO 27001 and ITIL
·         Knowledge of information technology process frameworks, e.g.  TOGAF and ITIL
·         Working knowledge of NIST control frameworks
