A global security organisation are looking for an Information Security Project Manager on an initial 6 month contract to lead on multiple IT & Technical projects relating to IT Security & GDPR, working with the business to help them understand changes required for existing technology and how to implement new technologies securely.  


Key Responsibilities for the Information Security Project Manager

  • Day-to-day accountability for the successful delivery of the projects relating to the Information Security programme

  • Facilitating communication and cooperation via standups, presentations, meetings, and workshops

  • Providing subject matter expertise for Information Security across full project lifecycles

  • Use of advanced programme delivery methods, including, governance structures, programme planning, budget management

  • Working with the GDPR Programme Lead, and the legal and compliance functions to gather requirements, set roadmaps, and to refine and prioritise the deliverables

  • Working with the software developers and data engineers to monitor progress, ensure smooth delivery, and proactively and decisively resolve blocks

  • Becoming an expert in GDPR

  • Becoming familiar with existing technologies within the business allowing you to effectively guide the business on how to secure these tools

  • Managing project scope and delivery, project budget and drive overall programme efficiency

  • Provide security consulting and technical assistance with the evaluation & selection and secure deployment of new IT systems

  • Coordinate implementation of Information Security tasks across the company

  • Provide security knowledge to the team in support of technology projects and system implementations


Skills & Experience required for the Information Security Project Manager

  • Extensive project management experience, preferably with demonstrable experience in regulatory-change projects

  • Demonstrable experience of Information Security

  • Clear, persuasive, and effective communication in both technical and non-technical levels.

  • Accreditation in or a demonstrable understanding of PRINCE2 and AGILE

  • Familiarity with the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and of their practical implications (although not necessarily a data protection expert)

  • A business analysis, consulting, or highly-technical/development background

  • Familiar with information governance and information security concepts

  • Strong passion for project management, execution and getting things done

  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and influencing skills

  • Team player, accountable and strong sense of urgency and execution

  • Passionate about learning new, cutting-edge technologies
