IOT Security Engineer

Description

My Client is looking for a IOT Product Security Expert to expand its work with leading edge IOT technology product development. It is an exciting role working with multiple multicultural teams responsible for development of the company’s next generation products. 

The role will be working Working with teams across Europe and you will be responsible for highlighting the importance of secure design and deployment to software and hardware, assisting with threat modelling, as well as working with internal Information Security to raise project risks and highlight areas where focus is required as multiple products are rolled out.

Key Responsibilities for IOT Security Product experts 

  • Contribute to and work with a team of application and product security talent during the development if a series of products while working with multiple product development teams

  • Be responsible for product security strategy for existing and future platforms and products

  • Ensure security initiatives, products and services are aligned to the overall technology and information security strategy

  • Work with teams as through product stage gates, as well as research and propose various secure design approaches or solutions

  • Perform direct security testing as able/appropriate or work with one of many Penetration Firms as partnered with the company

  • Ensure risk, mitigations and assurance tasks are captured in project backlogs, and thecompany’s ISMS

  • Inform Security Management, as we as the CIO or CPO as appropriate on project status, risks, or appropriate overall approaches.

    Key Skills for IOT Product Security Experts

    To be successful, you are a strong team player with passion for the work in an environment characterized by humbleness and knowledge-sharing. Along with this you will need to have significant drive, an analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate risk and creatively resolve bottlenecks.

  • A deep understanding of software and hardware threat vectors, threat modelling, attack surface analysis, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and scoping

  • Expertise and technical depth in application, backend or hardware security technologies , design, and threats.

  • Expertise in IOT product development and security strongly valued

  • Proven application, product, or general penetration testing experience a plus

  • Experience with assurance activities such as Application Security testing, code

    reviews and threat modelling

  • Experience with Security Automation, and the use of code testing tools such as

    Blackduck, Coverity, Fortify, or others

  • Multicultural stakeholder management and communication skills

  • An advantage if you are familiar with current home security/smart home

    technologies, future developments and understand the business model(s)
