- Are you a passionate Privacy professional? Are you looking to work with an exciting FinTech organisation? I am currently recruiting for a Senior Privacy Specialist to support the Data Protection Officer in the delivery of their regulatory duties. You will work with multiple teams around the company to identify and drive the appropriate strategies, procedures and communications into this exciting organisation to meet its Data Protection & Privacy compliance requirements.
Job Responsibilities of the Senior Privacy Specialist- Acting as the subject matter expert you will be responsible for supporting and advising on all matters surrounding data protection/privacy across the business
- Driving and supporting the development of a data ethics framework by defining privacy policies, procedures and guidance while helping to turn them into practical solutions
- Partner with all key business areas to ensure Privacy by Design and that data privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects
- Leading on privacy projects and giving support to the wider Information Security realm
- Advising on and leading Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA)
- Supporting the business in the fulfilment of Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) and other data subject rights
- Developing and delivering privacy training to business functions to raise employee awareness
- Support periodic audits of data protection and information security compliance within the firm
- Drafting Data Protection Agreements (DPA’s)
- Assist with the investigation, resolution and reporting of data privacy complaints and breaches
- Track developments in data privacy legislation and Data Protection Authorities
- Proactively take responsibility to identify, assess, manage and report data privacy risks
Desirable Skills and Experience of the Senior Privacy Specialist
- In depth knowledge and experience of relevant Data Protection and Privacy laws and regulations as well as standards and frameworks.
- Proven experience working as a ‘hands-on’ Privacy professional
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to successfully negotiate, collaborate or effect change, in relation to data protection and privacy matters with different stakeholders at all levels within the business
- An enthusiastic, positive and proactive mind-set who is a team player willing to support a team in achieving its goals and objectives.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision but a willingness to provide assistance and share experiences
- Relevant Data Protection or Privacy qualifications such as CIPP/E
- Direct experience of Information Security / Data Protection audits
- Understanding of risk management
- Experience/knowledge with machine learning, big data and artificial intelligence would be ideal
- Technology, start up experience ideally
