Description

Our client, a leading retailer are looking for a Cyber Security Service Manager to develop the strategy and roadmap for the technology portfolio. They are also looking at running a large programme to enable Agile within the organisation.

This will ideally suit a candidate from a Service Delivery or Vendor Management background and will hold full responsibility for ensuring services delivered to the Cyber Security team meet best practice and work in line with agreed SLA’s.

Main duties & responsibilities of the Security Service Manager

  • As a senior member of the Cyber Operations Team you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the services provided by the Cyber Operations team.
  • The Cyber Operations teams provides a multi-located hybrid service that consists of on and off-shore resources delivering services both internally and from 3rd parties covering; event management; identity & access management; incident management and response; IT process interface; investigations and forensics; endpoint security operations; threat hunting
  • Since the Cyber Operations team comprises on and off-shore resources together with outsourced services you will be required to work closely with the SOC Manager and Head of Cyber Operations to ensure seamless delivery of these services to the business.

This role is complex and varied; you will be responsible for ensuring a robust secure perimeter whilst ensuring our defence in depth remains active, through effective management both in-house and 3rd party services that are delivered
to and by the team. You will:

  • Ensure compliance to SLAs, processes
  • Undertake process innovation and improvement to achieve operational objectives
  • Manage the integrated service delivery within a large sourcing initiative and across smaller sourcing initiatives for the business
  • Report and Maintain Key Risk, Performance and Success Indicators for the portfolio of SOC Services both in and out- sourced
  • Lead and deliver activities within the continuous programme of cyber security improvement relating to the provision of cyber security services
  • Work with the SOC manager and the wider team to deliver existing and implement new Security services provided by 3rd parties
  • Develop, maintain and manage Service Introduction of new and changed services to Security Operations.
  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of SOC Services as detailed in the relevant sourcing agreements
  • Ensure that the service providers deliver the services in accordance with the agreed service-level agreements
  • Meet regularly with service partners to review and maintain service levels and report on the performance of the delivered Services
  • Enable business growth strategies through secure and Agile security product solutions.
  • Deliver new capabilities to enable current and future business needs (e.g., Hosting Futures, Cloud, Customer engagement, leveraging advanced analytics and AI, digital ready systems etc.) 
  • Lead on the on-boarding of new controls, capabilities & systems into the SOC
  • Make recommendations to improve operational effectiveness
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders (technical and non-technical) and suppliers to provide updates on threats and/or to deliver key projects
  • Leverage key supplier relationships to sustain competitive advantage and manage ongoing relationships with existing suppliers.
  • Identify area and solutions to introduce efficiencies of scale.
  • Keep abreast of developments within the Cyber Industry and Retail market space to ensure that Cyber Operations are kept in line with defined or emerging industry best practices
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and ensure they are implemented in a timely and controlled manner via Managed Service Providers and/or Third-Party Vendors

  • Experience of Incident Handling processes and procedures
  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively with managed suppliers and vendors
  • Strong knowledge of measurement processes, procedures and methodologies, including the ability to drive internal behavior.
  • Ability to understand, design, and manage incident management processes and procedures in an outsourcing environment.
  • Familiarity with appropriate legal frameworks - GDPR being the key focus
  • Deep understanding of Risk Management Framework
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a high paced environment without supervision.
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Flexibility in thinking, with creative and pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Quality mind-set
  • Excellent understanding of the organisation’s goals and objectives with a strong commercial and business awareness.

Qualifications:
  • Ideally have Industry Standard qualifications and training. I.E. ITIL Certifications
  • Preferably a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Information Technology or related subject
